Keep track of your work

EvoNEST stores all your data together with logs about what was modified and when.

Search through your NEST

Look for samples based on name, date of collection and more.

Integrations

Import your data and integrate it with external databases, like GBIF, WSC and more.

QR codes

Keep track of your collection by navigating through and maintaining it thanks to unique identifiers.

Data sharing

Data can easily be shared with collaborators. You control who can access it.

Data export

Export your data in your favourite format and run your analysis like you have always done.

Data visualisation

Quick and easy live visualisations of your collection state and trait analysis.

Transparency and FAIRness

All your data is stored in open formats, based on MongoDB BSON. This means that you can access your data at any time, even if you decide to stop using EvoNEST. This is a key feature of EvoNEST, as it ensures that you are always in control of your data. Transparency is also achieved through the use of unique identifiers for each sample, measurement and change in the system. This allows your data to natively follow the FAIR data principle philosophy: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable data.

Keep track of all your files

EvoNEST doesn't only help you with your logs and tables, but also with your files. All your files are stored in your server, accessible to you and safe. However, cloud integrations are also possible, thanks to the open-source nature of the project and the flexibility provided by the frameworks we are using behind the curtains.

Your data is accessible from anywhere you want, be it a local network or the entire web. You can access it from every device and every location, and download the data on the go. Every data inserted by a collaborator is immediately live in your NEST, so that you never miss important information.

Connect your real world object with their digital entries

Every digital entry in EvoNEST is connected to a QR code, which can be easily printed thanks to automatically generated labels. This way, you can quickly access the digital information of the sample by scanning the QR code with your phone or PC. When shipping samples to other labs, these labels assure that everyone can access the digital information of the sample.

Integrate with what you need

One important power of EvoNEST is the native ability to communicate with other web-tools through APIs. EvoNEST started as a data-driven project for a lab focused on spiders and spider silks, and we already provide all the code necessary to integrate the Global Name Resolver, the Global Biodiversity Information Facility, and the World Spider Catalogue. This is just the beginning, as we are working on integrating more databases and APIs to make EvoNEST the best tool for every collection.

Explore a demo NEST

Login into a demo NEST with the credentials below to explore the features of EvoNEST with your own mouse.

The demo NEST contains a sample of data based on an hypothetical collaboration between spider silk labs.
This NEST contains animals of the Arachnida class, and samples can be of two types, animals or collected silks. The data arrangement and the visualisation features focuses on a comparative analysis of the mechanical and geometrical properties of the silks.
All that you see, including the initial dashboard and the types of samples, can be tailored to your own needs.
