All your data is stored in open formats, based on MongoDB BSON. This means that you can access your data at any time, even if you decide to stop using EvoNEST. This is a key feature of EvoNEST, as it ensures that you are always in control of your data. Transparency is also achieved through the use of unique identifiers for each sample, measurement and change in the system. This allows your data to natively follow the FAIR data principle philosophy: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable data.

EvoNEST doesn't only help you with your logs and tables, but also with your files. All your files are stored in your server, accessible to you and safe.
Your data is accessible from anywhere you want, be it a local network or the entire web. You can access it from every device and every location, and download the data on the go. Every data inserted by a collaborator is immediately live in your NEST, so that you never miss important information.
Every sample in EvoNEST can generate customizable printable labels with QR codes. Configure label width, choose which information to display (genus, species, sample name), and print directly from your browser.

EvoNEST comes with native support for the Global Names Verifier, to help you verify and standardise scientific names across your collection. When you enter a location name, EvoNEST automatically looks up GPS coordinates using external geocoding services.

The demo NEST contains a sample of data based on an hypothetical collaboration between spider silk labs.
This NEST contains animals of the Arachnida class, and samples can be of two types, animals or collected silks. The data arrangement and the visualisation features focuses on a comparative analysis of the mechanical and geometrical properties of the silks.
All that you see, including the initial dashboard and the types of samples, can be tailored to your own needs through the web-based configuration interface. No coding required!
